Have you seen MLB Network’s 30 Clubs in 30 Days promotions around the Cactus League ballparks? They’ve brought in a big white tented video booth where fans can sit in front of a microphone and video a mock interview with Harold Reynolds.
My take? It is a lot harder than it looks. Trust me on this. It makes me wonder how guys like Peter Gammons, Tim Kurkjian and Steve Lyons do it. Could they possibly love baseball like we do?
Gammons is an acknowledged Boston Red Sox fan. I’m not sure about Tim Kurkjian, but there he was across the aisle from me, taking in a game with his family last week. As for Steve Lyons, he must be a terrific baseball fan because he acts like one, as gracious, fun and nice in person as he appears to be on camera. Maybe, like me, you too have spent many wonderful afternoons and evenings listening to someone who loves baseball.
